One Last Taste of Summer

Summer may be winding down, but I'm not quite ready to give up those warm-weather cocktails just yet.

There’s something about the last stretch of summer that makes you want to slow down, soak up every last bit of sunshine, and pretend vacation is still just a sip away. That’s exactly where Keys to Paradise comes in.

Creamy, citrusy, tropical, and just boozy enough, this Key Lime Martini is basically a little getaway in a glass.

The star of the show is Blue Chair Bay Key Lime Rum Cream, bringing that luscious key lime pie flavor without requiring you to actually bake a pie. Add delicious lime rum (I found some from St. Lucia) for an extra punch of citrus, silver rum (I used the delicious Silver Rum from Muddy River) to give it some backbone, and a splash of creamy goodness from a Mini Moo, and you've got a cocktail that's equal parts tart, sweet, and silky.

Think key lime pie meets tropical vacation meets cocktail hour.

And honestly, that's a pretty good way to say goodbye to summer.

🍋‍🟩 The Cocktail

• Start with a shaker full of ice

• 1.5oz Blue Chair Bay Key Lime Rum Cream

• 1oz Lime Rum

• 1oz Silver Rum

• 1 Mini Moo or a dash of 1/2 and 1/2

• Shake and strain into a martini glass and Enjoy!

🌴 A Little Taste of the Keys

What I love about this cocktail is that it doesn't try too hard to be complicated. The ingredients do all the work.

The Key Lime Rum Cream delivers the creamy, dessert-like character. The lime rum turns up the citrus. The silver rum keeps things firmly in cocktail territory, and the Mini Moo adds just enough creaminess to bring everything together.

The result is bright and refreshing, but still decadently creamy...a combination that makes this one particularly dangerous because it goes down way too easily.

It's the kind of drink that's perfect for a late-summer evening on the patio, a backyard happy hour, or that final summer gathering when everyone is desperately trying to squeeze one more weekend out of the season.
