  • Mixer Fascination

While trying to come up with new recipes, I'm always on the hunt for new mixers that might go well with the liquor that I have at home. One day as I was shopping at Trader Joes, I found Sparkling Watermelon Juice and Sparkling Strawberry juice that piqued my interest. I wouldn't necessarily call these cocktails that need a recipe, but they turned out way better than I expected, so I wanted to share them. First, I thought about what would mix well with the Sparkling Watermelon Juice. I started searching and found that both mint and citrus flavors pair well with watermelon. So, I did 2oz of Malfy Limon Gin, 0.5oz of Mint Simple Syrup (see recipe here at bottom of page), and then topped with half Sparkling Watermelon Juice and half Seltzer. Due to adding the mint simple syrup, the Sparkling Watermelon Juice needed to be cut a bit with the seltzer. The next one is simply a Vodka and Sparkling Juice, but the flavors go so well together. I did 2.5oz of Ketel Peach & Orange Blossom Vodka and topped it with the Sparkling Strawberry Juice. If you're looking for something easy and delicious, it doesn't really get any better than this.
